The thickness of cork floor

In recent decades, the thickness of cork flooring has gradually thickened from 4mm, and now you can see the thickest 10mm floor. Then everyone will feel that the thicker the floor, the more durable and the better the quality. Is that really the case?

It is understood that the cork floor adhesive type is an example, and the floor thickness of 4 mm has reached the international standard thickness. The various properties are relatively stable. For cork flooring, thickness is not the standard for determining the quality of cork flooring. If the slab is the same as the slab, the surface of the board is destroyed and the board can no longer be used. What’s more, if the home is installed with floor heating and the floor is too thick, the heat transfer will be affected.

For example, cork flooring, cork flooring is divided into three layers, cork surface three-layer water-based wear-resistant PU paint, cork veneer decorative layer, high-density polymerized cork layer, wear-resistant layer is made of water-based PU paint, which penetrates into cork floor. The molecular chain is relatively long, and the adsorption force is relatively strong, which is not easy to break. Plus the cork flooring itself is more wear resistant. Therefore, his service life has nothing to do with thinness. The average household cork floor is 4mm, and if it is commercial, it can be increased to 6-8mm. If it is thicker, it is a waste of raw materials.

So how can we tell the difference between cork flooring?

Generally good cork gives a warm and thick feeling, and the brightness is also high. This is due to the presence of cork airbags. If the hand feels cold, the quality is worse.

When buying cork flooring, you can get close to the smell of the board. If it is the fragrance of wood, it means good quality. If it is rubber or formaldehyde, the environmental performance will not meet the standard.

The cork particles contain 40 million tiny cork airbags per square meter, giving it a very good resilience. The feet feel very comfortable and non-slip.

When choosing a cork floor, first check whether the sanding surface of the floor is smooth, whether there are bulging particles, and whether the cork particles are pure. Look at the length of the cork floor, the method is: take 4 pieces of the same floor, spread on the glass, or on the flat ground, assemble to see if it is seamed.
